Foreword

JEANNIE DIAZIO entered this world at Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Patricia and Lawrence Cole, III. She is the wife and friend of Kenneth Diazio, a homemaker, mother of two children and a poet, now making her home in Wylie, Texas.

Prior to the ten years of compilation, organization and review of Clouds of Lavender, Jeannie worked as an accounting assistant, Medicare auditor and office manager. Writing poetry became a significant time for bridging the loss of her mother with a new life without her, as evidenced by the poem entitled, “Tribute to My Mother.” Jeannie continues to write, yielding a prolific number of poems.

Jeannie shares with her reading audience her most cherished memories in poems reflecting faith, hope, appreciation for nature and love for God. Her poems instill in the minds of her readers their worth and potential gifts which all humans possess. Seeking to inspire and uplift the reading audience, her poems reveal a sense of peace, thankfulness and communion with all that is good.

Clouds of Lavender

Clouds of lavender across the sky

Precious memories before my eyes

The presence of grace surrounding me

Unconditional love ever so sweet

Tears of laughter

Smiles of joy

Amidst Your glamour I adore

Acclaiming glory that I longed for

The beauty of Your ardent soul

Blanketing me with peace and tranquility

As I look above to soft cushiony pillows

Of clouds of lavender across the sky

Iridescent Colors

Iridescent colors reflected in the mist

Exemplifying its beauty

Soft gentle hues displayed gracefully

Enlightening our souls

Serenity transcending

Enveloping a warmth amongst me

Between me and my inner being

Sensing exquisiteness and splendor

Behold in my dreams

Conceived by illumination

In unison they bring

Adoration and purity

Iridescent colors reflected in the mist

An image inscribed through Heaven’s bliss

Miracle in My Dreams

I had a dream a miracle took place.

A group of people gathered outside

While God transformed the sky of the USA

Into the American flag for all to see.

The occurrence was eminently still.

Then everybody joined hands and sang

“God Bless America.”

A sense of patriotism and pride

filled the air with unity.

Hymn and praise bellowed out

as people had realized the

forgotten being remembered,

our taking for granted

freedom and justice for all.

God Bless America,

our home sweet home,

the presence of omnipotent God even in sleep.

Dream Haven

Drawn to this inescapable compelling love

The simplicity of it all

Subliminal messages in my mind

Embedded thoughts in peaceful seclusion

Wings of justice in flight

Endless emotion of compassion and certainty

Proclaiming the truth be told

I listen to hear the voice within

A new chapter has been written

Emerging into a life form of beauty

I feel so alive and vigorous

Like I am in consensus with my soul

With immense anticipation I proceed

(Onward I go) awake at last

I know in my sleep

The subconscious sets forth the reality

An eager heart admires just being

Heaven’s Treasure

The jewels of our heart

From the depths of earth and sea

Like raw uncut gems

Natural creation of God’s gift

Waiting to be finely cut

Polished and refined

Purest form of color and brilliance

Intrinsic clarity of our souls

Exhibiting quality of design and value

Luminescent love and beauty

We are the precious gems of God

May we seek to find Heaven’s treasure

Finding Christ within

Sitting Here Silently

In the still and quiet

Patiently with calmness

I empty all my thoughts

I empty all my emotions

Waiting to hear Your ever-present voice within

You at my side and knowing no fear

Reassured by Your gentleness

Serene and subdued Your whisper

Truth and light shining forth

Genuine and kind

Teaching me wisdom

Devoutly and earnestly

Knowledge of life

Straight from the heart

Feeling Your gracefulness

Your warmth and pureness

You give yourself freely

With undying absolute love

Enriching lives of so many

Charity, faith and love

Doing the will of Heaven

We seek and we find

Needing merely You

Embodiment of Your Spirit

Radiant light of infinite Love

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. In verdant pasture he gives me repose.

Beside restful waters he leads me. Psalm 23:1-2
