Mike Mahon's style is Impressionistic Realism, with paintings varying from subtle landscapes to stately and detailed portraits. He was a commercial artist and business owner for 27 years before establishing his full-time fine art career in 1998. Most recently he has been featured with 99 other artists from around the world in the 2004 North Light Books publication, 100 Ways to Paint Portraits and Figures. He was the Award of Merit winner at the Taos Society of Portrait Artists 2004 annual show in Taos, New Mexico. Winner of many other art awards and honors, he teaches workshops with skill and patience. Working mainly in oil and pastel, he teaches a “process” rather than “technique” oriented workshop, where students consistently rave over their results.
Besides teaching workshops and his Saturday Studio©, Mike judges shows, takes portrait commissions on a waiting list, and is represented by several galleries in Texas and New Mexico.
Mike's studio/gallery is in Amarillo, Texas, and he can be reached at 806-359-5130 or at art@mmahon.com. Tell him you found him at pathpublishing.com. His comprehensive website, www.mmahon.com, features many of his paintings, articles about his work, and step-by-step painting demonstrations.
Janey Esely

Besides Janey’s illustrations for several children’s books, she is skilled in oils and watercolors. Her training with noted instructors has led to her inclusion in the Best of the Southwest show in Amarillo for three years, and other showings. Her talent, her love for Jesus, and her desire for historical accuracy, as in this illustration for a short story, make her a talented addition to any staff.
